The Planet Expands Virtualization Portfolio with Microsoft
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V Will Be Available Through the Company's Planet Alpha Dedicated Servers Hosting Division

"We are beginning to see significant interest from our customers who are ready to take advantage of new virtualization technologies," said Urvish Vashi, general manager of dedicated servers at The Planet, as he announced the expansion of The Planet's portfolio of products and services with the addition of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V.

Vashi continues, "Many companies are looking to better utilize their server assets, which has long been the promise of virtualization."

Vashi concludes,"As a Microsoft Gold-Certified Partner, we see Hyper-V as a new option that helps businesses better manage their IT infrastructures."

The new hypervisor-based technology will be available through the company's Planet Alpha Dedicated Servers hosting division.

To increase flexibility, value and reliability, Hyper-V enables multiple operating systems to run on a single physical server as virtual machines. Whether it's Windows or Linux, servers operate in parallel on a single server. Customers are able to consolidate their workloads across multiple underutilized servers on a small number of systems and to leverage their technology investments.

Hyper-V joins The Planet's existing virtualization portfolio, which includes Parallels Virtuozzo.
