Arkeia Corp and Federal Edge Partner Up to Help Protect US Government Data
Will Offer Data Protection Solutions for Government Agencies

"Being able to provide our government and military customers with complete data protection for their Linux and UNIX servers is an important differentiator for us," said Cindra Stolk, president of Federal Edge as his company and Arkeia Corp. today announced that Arkeia's data protection solutions are now available to federal, state and local government agencies through Federal Edge's GSA Schedule (#GS-35F 0091M).

Federal Edge has signed a value-added reseller (VAR) agreement with Arkeia that calls for the Riverside, Calif.-based provider of technology solutions and consulting services to sell Arkeia's network and server backup and recovery software product lines. Federal Edge will now provide government agencies with an easy mechanism to purchase Arkeia's robust, scalable and reliable data protection solution for Linux and UNIX environments.

"Through this partnership, we are able to offer a cost-effective way to ensure the highest levels of data backup and recovery for Linux servers in the industry," Stolk added.

"By partnering with Federal Edge, Arkeia will be able to capture greater market share and better address the needs of customers in the federal government sector," said Rick DiViesti, Arkeia's director of sales. "We can then build on this relationship to expand our government program and make our products available to more federal institutions." <> Arkeia Network Backup features 64-bit Linux(R) support for Intel(R) Itanium(R) 2 and support of Kernel 2.6 Linux distributions. Arkeia also offers a tightly integrated solution for open databases and applications such as MySQL(R), Oracle(R), DB2(R) and Microsoft(R) Exchange. Arkeia Server Backup features support for tape autoloaders, allowing fully automatic backup of high-volume servers. It is compatible with all major tape devices on the market as well as numerous tape media technologies. Other features include automatic multi-flow backup from disks, a choice of simple or detailed log reports and compatibility with new Arkeia hot backup plug-ins.
