SEM Delivers A Better Way To Destroy Government Documents
Secure Data Destruction System For Commercial CDs

Security Engineered Machinery, the largest direct supplier of document destruction equipment in the US, announced the Model 1200 CD Media Eraser and Declassification System. The device quickly and efficiently removes all data from commercially produced CDs formatted as CD-R, CD-RW, and WORM. Certified by the Department of Defense for all security levels, it provides assured destruction of data in a convenient desktop device.

The Model 1200 uses a micromachining technique, which completely removes data-bearing surfaces in just 20 seconds, with the safest possible method of optical media destruction. This patent pending procedure impregnates the disk, removing stored information, and allows for standard disposal of the remaining disk.

Designed for ease of use, the Model 1200 employs a fully automatic declassification cycle once a disk has been inserted. Because the micromachining process leaves the inner disk hubs intact, the remaining disk can be identified as absolute proof of destruction, cutting out the need for detailed logs and witnesses in applications where certification of destruction is required.

SEM maintains a full-service engineering department that designs specialty products. Nearly 200 of their currency destruction systems are in use with the Federal Reserve Bank and other central banks, making SEM the largest supplier of currency and data destruction systems in the world.
