CrownPeak Search Outsmarting Google?
CrownPeak Search Outsmarting Google?

CrownPeak, a leader in content management, has introduced an intuitive Web search system that returns results bases on user's Web searching behavior and content selection. CrownPeak Search is the first on-demand, "intelligent," search service of its kind.

CrownPeak Search works by analyzing every search request and interaction executed by a user; and then dynamically adapts to offer users search results that are "customized" to what is relevant to them. The technology can help companies make Web-based searches more productive, and can offer site visitors an enhanced Web experience.

This is only the second product the four-year old company has released. The company's other product is CrownPeak CMS, a market leading content management tool. CrownPeak's latest offering is being sold as a Web service. There is no hardware or software that needs to be bought or installed, no upfront maintenance fees, and no complex installation or configuration requirements. CrownPeak search can be up and working in 48 hours or less, the company says.

In addition, by offering its product as Web services, CrownPeak can work with customers on a one-to-one basis in order to help fine-tune the search tool for individual use. This defrays the cost enterprises usually incur when training their own staff to monitor applications. Customers, like Craine Publishing, are assigned account managers, who look over the service to ensure it's running according to customer specifications. Month-to-month billing allows customers to cancel the service whenever they wish.

The company's CEO, Jim Howard, explained, "Every quarter, we do a full system review and then offer our customer a set of recommendations for tuning the system based on our customer's guidance. We then tune the system to optimize relevance and reliability - and it's all included in our standard monthly fees. It's the best of both worlds - world-class technology delivered as a fully managed service."

Howard further stated, "We have created the most reliable d flexible hosted site search system on the market. CrownPeak Search is extremely feature-rich, highly scalable, very rapid and reliable, and provides great capabilities for developers. Matching that powerful system with our proven service offering is the true breakthrough. We are the first company to combine machine-learning techniques with human intelligence. "

The application recognizes misspellings of common words, and also specific words or phrases users typically enter. Progressive matching technology returns results based on how new the content is, what search queries are performed, how popular the content is, and what types of content visitors select from results.

Other features in CrownPeak Search include, customization capabilities, complete control over design and layout, keyword purchase and promotion, totally configurable search criteria, complete control over design and layout, and XML result returns.
