Compuware To Preview Uniface 9 In Amsterdam
20th anniversary of Compuware's Uniface development environment

Compuware will be offering a preview of Uniface 9, the latest version of its development environment, during its annual Uniface users conference, CU2004, which is being held this year on December 6 - 7, at the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Attendees will not only get to preview Uniface 9, they will be doing a good turn for wildlife. Ten percent of the CU2004 registration and sponsorship fees will go to the World Wide Fund for Nature, helping build a bright future for inhabitants and animals in Malaysian Borneo.

The theme for the event, Compuware announced, is "Building a Bright Future." To this end, other new products and proven business solutions will be unveiled, and a wealth of information and networking opportunities to Uniface users globally.

Irene Dawson, senior vice president of Compuware, said, "This year's annual Uniface user conference is very exciting, particularly as it marks the 20th anniversary of Compuware Uniface. Uniface continues to build on its strong heritage of delivering strategic applications amid constant technology and business innovation. Combined with its technology independence, Uniface's ability to rapidly build, renew and integrate large and complex enterprise applications make it more popular today than any time in its 20-year history."

The conference is the only time when Uniface users from around the world can come together to meet peers, share experiences, and discuss best practices. CU2004 is expected to draw several hundred developers, development mangers, project managers, software engineers, CIO's, and even some CEO's. To make the event as inclusive as possible, internationally acclaimed IT industry leaders, such as Jeff Mann, vice president of META Group, will also be on hand.

The conference will also feature Uniface partners with vendor displays and presentations. Sponsors include Compuware, GraphOn, HP, ITIS, March Hare, Popkin Software and Sogeti. Uniface will have a cocktail reception, conference dinner, and entertainment program to honor the 20th anniversary of Uniface. Attendees will be able to network during this time; and Compuware is also offering optional training workshops and a Value Added Reseller (VAR) networking event on December 8.

Udo Pott, CU2004 Uniface Users Steering Committee, representing the German user group, commented, "This is the premier event for Uniface users globally to come together, learn from each other and to get first-hand access to upcoming products and product benefits."

development extravaganza, which they held at the company's Detroit world headquarters. There were more than 1,000 developers and C-level attendees at that one.
