HP Delivers Wireless Notebook to Small and Medium Business Customers

(May 1, 2003) - The new HP Compaq Business Notebook nx9010 incorporates proven technologies and optional wireless connectivity to allow mobile professionals at small- and medium-sized businesses to increase productivity at an affordable price.

The new notebook PC offers wireless connectivity through optional integrated 54g wireless LAN (local area network) technology. It is designed to work with new wireless networks based on the draft 802.11g specification as well as existing 802.11b wireless networks.

By choosing to integrate 54g integrated wireless into the nx9010 notebook, users can benefit from higher data transfer speeds with broader coverage than current wireless specifications provide. Integrated 54g wireless makes the notebook ideal for business environments with only one access point. The 54g wireless technology is also more secure since it was designed to support the WPA standard. The nx9010 notebook is planned to support the WPA standard through a software update soon.

The HP Compaq nx9010 with integrated 54g wireless LAN technology is available immediately.
