Blaze Advisor 5.0 Bolsters Rules Management Technology

(May 22, 2003) - Fair Isaac Corporation has released Fair Isaac Blaze Advisor 5.0, the latest version of its business rules management software. Blaze Advisor 5.0 allows greater control and security for team-based development and maintenance of business rule applications, offers new options for building decision trees as part of a decision process, and is the first in a series of planned integrations with Fair Isaac's analytic modeling tools.

Fair Isaac Blaze Advisor 5.0 provides the ability to build graphical representations of decision trees, showing a complete set of decision paths that lead to the actions that should be taken. Another key enhancement is a repository that can manage and track multiple versions of individual rules, sets of rules, and entire decision-making services. Authentication and authorization features built into the software let companies balance the conflicting needs of security, control, and business flexibility in their operations.

Written entirely in Java, Blaze Advisor runs on all major operating systems and hardware platforms, incorporating data from SQL databases, XML documents, and other applications. Fair Isaac was recently listed as a Leader in Gartner, Inc.'s Business Rules Engine 2003 Magic Quadrant for the second year in a row.

Since this is a product announcement rather than an article (I don't think there can be any disagreement here), why in the world does JDJ provide a respond capability? "Yes, it was a lovely product announcement: just the right mix of hype and fact".

This is a product announcement not an article. JDJ publishes these type of marketing announcements every month (as do many other journals).

I personally don't see the issue. I think your assessment is unfair.

I see your magazine is living up to its reputation as a "cheap date". Just buy an advertisement, and you get a story written about you, a product review, or a JDJ "award".

I bet you never have to pay anyone for an article. Just get your advertisers' marketing geniuses to write them for you.

Brilliant.
