Quest's DeployDirector 2.5 Release Brings Full Java Desktop Application Management to the Enterprise

(December 13, 2002) - Group-level authorization enabling Java-rich clients to be deployed and managed using the IT group's existing infrastructure is a highlight of Quest Software Inc.'s newly-released Java application deployment solution, DeployDirector 2.5. DeployDirector is a Java application provisioning and management solution that helps IT organizations to deploy, manage, and update rich clients. Sitraka, developer of DeployDirector, was recently acquired by Quest Software.

DeployDirector 2.5 focuses on enabling Java rich clients to be deployed and authorized using the same infrastructure as other IT applications. Group-level authorization enables an application to be authorized for a particular group of users - the members of this group can be managed using enterprise-level employee database systems like LDAP.

Also featured in this release are new wizards that automate the packaging and external distribution of Java rich clients, and improved security and platform stability. New administration privileges keep application bundles secure.

DeployDirector 2.5 is available now. To obtain a free evaluation copy, visit www.sitraka.com/deploydirector/media.
