Wyse Demonstrates 'PC Experience' Software Suite for Desktop Virtualization
Wyse Thin OS and Wyse Thin Computing Extensions Deliver Desktop Virtualization Without Compromises

PALM SPRINGS, Calif., Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, today demonstrated a breakthrough software suite for desktop virtualization, delivering a rich PC experience on a simple and cost-effective thin computing device. Based on Wyse Thin OS, the world's fastest operating system for thin computing, Wyse demonstrated unprecedented performance along with access to multimedia rich features in a desktop virtualization environment.

The breakthrough in performance demonstrated by Wyse is enabled by Wyse Thin Computing Extensions, a suite of server-based software currently under development. These extensions optimize the virtual desktop environment to deliver a complete PC experience to a thin computing device. Wyse demonstrated extensions for multimedia acceleration and Voice over IP (VoIP), and announced future plans for peripheral virtualization. Combined with Wyse Thin OS, this complete software suite delivers a full PC experience in a desktop virtualization environment.

Wyse Thin OS is the smallest, fastest and most secure operating system for thin computing. With a boot time of less than 5 seconds and built-in support for Microsoft Terminal Server, Citrix Presentation Server and VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Wyse Thin OS leads the industry in performance and deployment flexibility.

"This announcement really demonstrates the full potential of desktop virtualization," said Jeff McNaught, Vice President of Marketing & Customer Support at Wyse Technology. "With Wyse Thin OS and Wyse Thin Computing Extensions, users will get a complete 'PC experience' on a thin client. The benefits of cost, performance, security and manageability of thin computing are maintained, while delivering a no-compromise PC experience."
