Quest InTrust 9.0, New IT Solution
New Capabilities Among Latest Enhancements to Quest Compliance Suite

At the RSA Conference 2006, Quest database and infrastructure management solutions, today announced availability of Quest InTrust 9.0, the newest version of Quest’s heterogeneous auditing product that is part of Quest’s Compliance Suite for Windows.

InTrust helps IT comply with regulatory requirements and enforce internal controls by monitoring access to critical systems and helping to detect inappropriate or suspicious access-related events. InTrust securely collects, stores, reports, and alerts on heterogeneous event data across the enterprise including Windows-based systems, Linux and Unix systems, Oracle and SQL databases and firewalls.

Major new capabilities in InTrust 9.0 include:
• Secure agent-side event backup – InTrust agents ensure that event log data is secure and tamper proof by creating event backups in a cache that prevents access to information by a rogue user or administrator.
• Automated server failover – In the case of hardware failure, all InTrust functionality is automatically moved to a backup server, ensuring the uninterrupted collection and availability of secure log files.

“Quest has long offered solutions to enhance IT efficiency and productivity,” said Doug Davis, director of product management, Quest Software. “InTrust is a prime example of how we are extending this to help with compliance issues. The newest version ensures availability of systems for event log collection, even during hardware failure.”

Increasing regulatory pressures and internal controls have created the need for automated solutions like InTrust that provide value beyond collecting event logs.
