Verio Handles Regulatory Environments for Storage and Security Customers
NTT Subsidiary Develops Variety of Hosted and Related Services

Verio has dedicated itself to providing guaranteed reliable Internet access, Web hosting, security and powerful managed services, the company says. A  subsidiary of NTT, the world's largest telecommunications company, the company offers Internet access, web hosting, colocation, security and network services.

“Businesses today face a range of regulatory and compliance requirements for data protection, retention and accessibility,” said Bill Jolly, director of product management for Verio. “Data backup and recovery has critical impact to operations for businesses of all sizes, and any data loss or downtime has shown to have significant potential impact to an organization. With the expansion of our managed storage options from Arsenal, Verio continues to help businesses drive down storage costs while ensuring data availability with easier management, increased efficiencies and guaranteed performance.”

Businesses such as Biscayne Aquaculture, a Verio customer based in Florida, have taken advantage of Verio's backup services, Jolly says, to ensure their data is protected and accessible, including during natural disasters. Industry studies show that although data loss can have extensive business impact, two-thirds of companies today say their data backup and disaster recovery plans have significant vulnerabilities. Additional research notes that only a fraction of companies - six percent - that suffer a catastrophic data loss will survive beyond two years.*

“Organizations of every size and industry--from banks to hospitals to insurers--are being forced to re-examine their data protection processes not only as a fail-safe against human error and disaster, but also to meet regulatory requirements for data security, accessibility and chain-of-custody,” said Sam Sigarto, chief operating officer for Arsenal Digital Solutions. “We look forward to working with Verio to offer the most reliable solutions for meeting these data protection mandates--regardless where data resides--quickly, cost-effectively and worry-free.”
