Apani Develops Cisco VPN Client
Allows Secure 802.11 and GRPS Connections

Apani Networks has positioned itself as the market leader in third-party VPN clients and IT security compliance solutions providing protection for critical network data and securing the evolving edge of corporate networks. Its latest offering are new VPN clients for Cisco 3000 VPN gateways, which allows secure 802.11 and GRPS connections to the Cisco 3000 VPN Gateway from popular mobile devices such as the Dell Axim, and HP iPaq, and Siemen's mobile devices that use Microsoft Windows.  The software supports Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 2003 Phone Edition, and Windows
Mobile 2003 SE.

"As the popularity of mobile computing devices increases, it does blur the network's edge and increases the potential security risks for corporate IT," said David Lynch, vice president of marketing, Apani Networks.  "We are pleased to provide Cisco 3000 VPN gateway support for these devices to secure their wireless connections back to corporate networks.  Apani continues to set new standards for placing trust back into trusted network environments."

The Apani software has undergone Beta testing since early May and general availability is scheduled for June 20, 2005.  The company released a Nortel Contivity VPN Gateway for the Macintosh OS 10.4 earlier this month. Apani's mobile client for the Cisco 3000 VPN Gateway is priced at $50 per client and can be downloaded from Apani's website.

Apani Networks is a leading provider of Multi-OS VPN clients rich with features that allow clients to seamlessly interoperate with leading VPN gateways for effective IPsec-protected secure remote access.  Apani's family of VPN clients enables users to establish secure encrypted tunnels from a client computer to Contivity VPN switches to encrypt and authenticate IP-based communications from public or private networks.
